How to Know God
Getting to know God is the most important event in a person’s life. According to the Bible we are all sinners and have separated ourselves from Him. There are many places in the Bible where this is explained, but the Book of Romans, in the New Testament (second part of the Bible) perhaps explains it most clearly. In the first three chapters, the author (the Apostle Paul) explains why we should know God. Then in chapter 3, verse 23, he says, “…all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." That means we have separated ourselves from God. The story continues through Romans, and in chapter 10, verses 9 and 10, we are told, “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
Confession, repentence, and trust in His love and grace begin a relationship with the living Lord Jesus Christ that lasts through eternity.
