A baby’s first experience at church should be happy and secure. Our nursery is a place where your child will be loved and cared for during Sunday School and worship services. It is during the early years of life when a child forms his first impressions of church and God.
The nursery is designed for children through two years of age and is available during regular services such as the morning worship service at 10:30, Sunday School at 9:00, and occasional evening services on Sunday at 6:00 PM.
Two separate rooms provide age-appropriate environments for babies and toddlers. The Infant Nursery for newborns and crawlers is equipped with cribs, swings, toys and books. The Toddler Nursery is for children who have reached their first birthday and can walk well. This room is equipped with child-sized slides, riding toys, puzzles, books and many fun things children enjoy. Children may learn simple songs and hear Bible stories.
It is our expectation to always have at least two childcare workers in our nursery. The workers have been approved according to our Child Protection Policy, which provides for the screening of each worker. Our workers are familiar with the procedures that will provide a clean and safe nursery.
There are a few things that will help us do a better job. Please fill out a registration card which will give us basic information about your child’s needs. The information you give allows the workers to care for your child in a way that helps him feel "at home" in the nursery and allows us to contact you if necessary.
Please provide the following items in your child’s diaper bag: 3 disposable diapers, plastic bottles, and a pacifier (if your child uses one). Label the diaper bag and all contents with your child’s name. Don’t hesitate to remind us of any special needs your child has. We want each child to feel loved as an individual - just the way Jesus loves each of us.
Please do not bring your child if they are not feeling well. Signs of illness in babies are coughing, sneezing, cloudy or green discharge from nose, any degree of fever, vomiting or diarrhea, unusual fatigue; inflamed mouth or throat and discharge of the skin, ear or eye. Contagious diseases can quickly spread from one baby to the next. If your child comes down with a communicable disease (chicken pox, etc) within a week of being in the nursery, please contact the church office at 630-231-1210. Parents of children who have been exposed will be notified.
