Awana - Approved Workmen

You might not think screaming kids are fun, but when the screams are coming from AWANA kids running the circle, batting a balloon or tossing a beanbag, you are hearing a roomful of fun!! Once out of the gym, the real excitement begins. Boys and girls in their team rooms are memorizing scripture and hiding biblical truths in their hearts. In their council time, these young people hear stories of Bible characters, missionaries or people their own age. At this time, they hear what the Bible says and discuss how to apply it to their daily lives. This is what AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed - II Timothy 2:15) is about, bringing boys and girls to Christ and increasing their knowledge and understanding of the Bible.

Beginning in September, three clubs meet at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday evenings at WEBC. They are for children age three through sixth grade. Cubbies are preschoolers from three to five years of age (yes, even children this young can learn God's Word!). The Sparks Club is for children in kindergarten through second grade. The third through sixth graders are “TNT’ers”, the Truth and Training group.

If your children are somewhere in this age range, we invite you to bring them and their friends to AWANA to have fun and grow in the Lord at the same time. Better yet, we invite you to come with them. There is always a place to serve. You are needed, whether it's listening to a clubber recite verses, being a team leader, or running the games. The gift of your time is an eternal investment in the lives of children. See Commander Mike or one of the leaders for details.
